Our Club offers our Junior skating members the opportunity to participate in two exciting skating programs:
Theatre On Ice (TOI) and Synchronized Skating:
Theatre On Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that is popular in Europe. It combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Teams consist of between eight and 30 skaters. Skaters, both competitive and noncompetitive, can learn and grow on a theatre team. Our team has competed in TOI competitions nationally and internationally and showcased their programs at area rinks. Team skaters build self confidence, make friends, and develop new skating skills as well as theatrical skills. Best of all, a team can draw club skaters together and increase club spirit.
We are always looking for new members, if you are between the ages of 8-18 and have passed PrePreliminary MIF, come and check us out ! We have competitions and exhibitions throughout the year, culminating in June with a trip to the National TOI Championship event in Troy, Ohio !
Our all-new team format for 2012-13 season includes the coaching team of Laura Corley, Robbie Kaine and Brent Bommentre. Regular practice slots are Sunday early evenings plus Saturday mid mornings.
SYNCHRONIZED SKATING is a team sport in which 8-20 skaters perform a program together. It is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences. Similar to our TOI team, our Jr. Synchro team has competed in numerous US Figure Skating sanctioned competitions around the country.
Synchronized skating is a great way for figure skaters to compete in a sport they love while enjoying all of the aspects of working with others in a team-oriented sport. For further information and rates, contact Regina Barr at firstname.lastname@example.org .
